Our Services

We are a full-service M&A team, providing end-to-end legal solutions for all kinds of transactional activity, including share and asset purchases and sales, mergers, demergers and restructures. We work across the transaction, from letter of intent stage, through due diligence (including cross-specialisms within the firm such as privacy, employment and IP), disclosure, negotiation and completion.
Our Employment team represents both employers and employees across a range of contentious and non-contentious employment matters. We handle standalone employment issues and employment-related elements within larger transactions.
We work with various clients as their outsourced DPO, operating as much as an advisory consultant as a legal services provider. To display the complexity and caliber of our data protection work, we support one of the Big4 accountancy and consultancy practices, effectively as an extension of their internal data protection teams, supporting the negotiation of commercial and supplier contracts, preparing DPIAs and advising on business risks in the context of M&A.
Our expertise spans English law concerning privacy regulations, coupled with an adept understanding of EU and US data protection laws. As Certified Information Privacy Professionals in Europe (CIPP/E), we offer consultancy services for EU regulatory compliance.
Commercial contracts of any size are part of our day-to-day as a commercial legal service provider. Those commercial contracts can be B2B and B2C, and cover all types of contract, including terms and conditions, partner programs, privacy documentation, supply contracts, outsourcing arrangements, SaaS agreements etc.

Meet the Team

Richard Hyman

Partner & Head of M&A
Richard is a business law specialist and Head of Corporate M&A. He has particular experience in corporate and commercial matters. He focuses on domestic and cross-border M&A transactions, insurance regulatory work, shareholder and joint venture agreements, as well as advising on customer facing agreements. He acts for clients across various sectors, including logistics, energy (including windfarms), healthcare, technology and infrastructure. Before joining Asserson, Richard worked at Ince & Co. for five years.
Simon Weinberg

Partner & Head of Commercial & Technology
Simon works mainly with commercial and technology businesses, focusing on commercial partnerships and contractual processes. Simon’s clients come from across the commercial spectrum, including retail, healthcare, digital, technology and engineering. He advises on strategy, contracts (customer and supplier), IP exploitation, protection of data, general business advice and more.
